The Mental Design Team talks to a Swatch

This whole blog series is personification pushed to allegory. But I’ve been leaving out an important…well, not a person, the Swatch, answerer of questions.

Patternist knew she had to wait until making her spread sheet, and it made her nervous: Do we know yet if this yarn will work in the design?

Sample Maker held up Swatch, who remarked: So far I’m drape-y, is that the look you’re going for?

Editor interrupted: Actually, I want more bouncy body, what happens with smaller needles?

Sample Maker switched, Swatch sounded more animated: Hey, I like this, but you’d better hang me overnight to be sure. Then you can see if I stretched, weigh me, check my area and do lots of calculations.

Butterfly flitted in: Ooo, pretty, can I feel it?

Swatch: That tickles!

Mamma Bear ran into the meeting: Sorry Swatch, We’ve got to go, Blue Bunny is missing and she’s scared.

Editor: Who is scared, Little K or the stuffed animal?

Mamma Bear: Both of them.

And that takes personification to the real world in a loud way.
