\n Hmm having knitted neither, I’ve got more of an interest in learning to knit socks.

\n I’d love to learn but don’t know how yet.

\n FO<\/p>\n

Garments or things that don\u2019t have to fit anyone in particular?<\/em>
\n Things with no specific fit (shawls, scarves, hats)<\/p>\n

Short Answer Questions (skip any that aren\u2019t fun!)<\/p>\n

What is your usual process on a fiber project, for instance, do you start with a yarn, a cute pattern, a need you\u2019ve noticed, something exciting you saw in a movie you want to copy, or a technique you want to learn \u2013 then what do you do next and then what?<\/em><\/p>\n

Usually I look at my WIPs and decide if there’s a project missing (for example, a project to pick up when watching TV) if there isn’t one for that purpose, I’ll find a yarn in my stash and match it to a pattern. My WIPs very much depend on what I have in the stash because there isn’t a decent LYS nearby.<\/p>\n

Does anything intimidate you in knitting or crochet?<\/em>
\n Colour work I find quite daunting. Despite having designed fingerless mitts with stripes, that stretched my colour work knowledge to the maximum.<\/p>\n

When you want to learn something, do you look it up in a book, on U-tube, or seek a real person to teach you?<\/em>
\n I’m the only knitter I know in the area and I work better visually so I’ll either ask someone on Ravelry or Youtube it.<\/p>\n

Any repetitive motion disorders due to knitting or crochet? How do you deal with them?<\/em>
\n Nope, not yet. Although Myalgic Encephalopathy makes it difficult some days to knit but that’s not due to knitting too much.<\/p>\n

Do you frequent a particular yarn store? <\/em>
\nUnfortunately not, I’m currently boycotting my local yarn store due to poor customer service and being rude. If an online store counts, I often use Deramores to place orders.<\/p>\n

Do you usually finish things? If not, does it bother you?<\/em>
\n I normally finish things, because it annoys me if something is unfinished. It may take years to finish, but I really don’t like frogging.

\nWhat makes you buy a pattern (lovely photo, the story of the project, it looks do-able, it looks slightly challenging\u2026)<\/em><\/p>\n

I like things that are different and that I can’t find a similar pattern for, if I want a basic beret I wont pay for a pattern for it when I know there will be at least a few dozen similar for free. Using interesting colour combinations does draw my attention, but ultimately if the design is very different to others I’ve seen that will be why I buy, especially if it’s good value.<\/p>\n

What gives you the feeling that you got your money\u2019s worth out of a pattern?<\/em>
\n If I knit it, enjoy knitting it and would knit it again then it was worth the money.<\/p>\n

What do you most enjoy about knitting or crochet?<\/em>
\n It’s something to work on, get better at and something that health limitations doesn’t affect much. It’s been a silver lining to a grey cloud for me, it’s something to watch progress and I like that.<\/p>\n

What are your crafting ambitions?<\/em>
\n I would like to see where designing takes me and perhaps look more seriously into marketing chunky knit hairbands I do.<\/p>\n
