Then I wondered, what if I made the size and placement of the dots dependent on a color run in some hand dyed yarn?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.christineguestdesigns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_9545.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2010 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.christineguestdesigns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_9545-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"close up of Kapow Dots\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.christineguestdesigns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_9545-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.christineguestdesigns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_9545-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A Hundred Ravens had just put out a call.\u00a0 When I sent in my submission, I though that the idea was like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/designers\/rachel-henry\">Rachel Henry&#8217;s<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/patterns\/library\/mind-the-gap-2\">Mind the Gap<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was delighted to have a submission accepted.\u00a0 So delighted that the kids ran into the computer room to find out if I&#8217;d hurt myself; because I was yelling so loud! Even better, the editor was Rachel herself! That didn&#8217;t stop my guys from humming the theme song whenever they saw me.<\/p>\n<p>I had originally a fussy method of attaching the dots. A few rounds showed me that I needed a simpler method. Once I started up again, the inside of the cowl turned out to have a cool, calm pattern of it&#8217;s own. Bingo! A mild mannered alter ego.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.christineguestdesigns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_9546.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone photo shoot &#8211; and fun photo editing.\u00a0 Rachel wrote the romance text for the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/patterns\/library\/k-a-p-o-w-c-o-w-l\"> pattern<\/a>, and I love
