Crocheted pattern for tangrams launches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My Grandma Williams gave educational presents: a make your own moccasin kit, a potholder loom, a microscope, and lots of Dover Press books, including a <a href=\"http:\/\/tangrams.ca\/\">Tangram<\/a> set. I loved to dump out my red cardboard puzzle pieces, and try to make the solid figures in my book. (Yes, I did &#8216;cheat&#8217; by looking at the &#8216;answers&#8217; for how the triangles, parallelogram and square made the pictures) Once I turned 12, Dad would not &#8216;race&#8217; me on matching puzzle sets anymore&#8230;because I always won!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/christineguestdesigns.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=604\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-604\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"They really do fit in an Altoids Tin\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eagleswingscoop.org\/christineguestdesigns\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/S6301830-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"The crocheted tangrams fitting in the Altoids tin\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I love little projects that fit in Altoids Tins. The implied first instruction is &#8220;Eat all the Candy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/christineguestdesigns.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=603\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-603\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Cover of the Tin of Tans\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eagleswingscoop.org\/christineguestdesigns\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/S6301828-e1342040983763-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Crocheted and cross stitched cover of the Tin of Tans\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, a hand made set of tans could only get more fun if it fit in a 50g Altoid tin, and if the Tin of Tans is crocheted in #10 thread, it does!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/christineguestdesigns.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=626\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-626\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Birthday Cake Tangram\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eagleswingscoop.org\/christineguestdesigns\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/S6301854-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Birthday Cake Tangram with real candles and the Tin\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It makes a fun, whimsical gift, someone must have a birthday soon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/christineguestdesigns.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=608\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-608\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Dog Tangram with Tin of Tans\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eagleswingscoop.org\/christineguestdesigns\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/S6301836-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Dog (horse?) tangram with Tin of Tans\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Perhaps someone&#8217;s dog has a birthday soon (or is that a horse? There is a pattern for the crocheted tin cover, and a cross stitch chart for the lettering, but if you prefer a simpler label, you can cut out the paper one from the pattern itself.
