I wanted to used my favorite bias herringbone stitch, and I wanted to try a new construction for a cowl, but mostly I wanted to show off beautiful buttons.\u00a0 So the button hole is sewn into a seam, you can make it as large as needed to show off really amazing buttons.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Herringbone Hexagonal Cowl begins with a center out square of Quaker Welt Stitch worked flat. The two sides around the buttonhole are bound off, then the cowl is finished with Rib and Welt Diagonals worked on the bias. \n\t\t\t\tI LOVE how it turned out! It's a great pattern. It's purl-heavy, but I don't mind that at all.\n\nThe only suggestion I'd make is to include a picture of how to measure the swatch. I had to read that part about 6 times to get what you were saying about how to measure it.\n\nI had never used the disappearing cast on before and it's VERY cool.
