My garden has entered it’s orange phase. It will last until frost.
I’ve done a few attempts at a lace owl.
First, I filled in a chart with likely lace stitches. The stitch count got away from me, I’ve lost that swatch (oops)
Then I tried a long swatch of likely lace stitches, and placed paper cut outs from the original owl sketch on top of them, a sort of concrete riff CrazyLacelady’s method. I think I need a smaller lace scale and a large paper scale.
Then I worked on the background mesh, making half eyelets to refine the edge.
I really need to work on the face.
Um, I got distracted, but I’ll be back eventually. Anyone going to Rhinebeck? Dan and I will be there!
